Looking for a good book to read? You found the right place! I love Young Adult Literature and love recommending interesting titles to my students even more. This blog will recommend titles of YA Literature that I have recently read and want others to discover as well. Enjoy! Under each post is the "Comment" option. Feel free to share your opinions about each of the books so that other students can read your opinions as well.

You might have noticed the recent makeover each of the posts got. I rearranged the posts so that the summaries are hidden. If you are curious about a book and want to know more about it, click on "Read more >>", the summaries are hidden there for more information. Have fun!

13 Little Blue Envelopes

  • You want a quick read that is both easy, fluffy, and entertaining.
  • You like scavenger hunts.
You will not like this book if:

  • You prefer books with male main characters.
  • You are looking for a book that will make you think about life or that you learn something from.
Fun Fact #1: I have to admit...I think I am partial to this book.  Having just become an auntie in the past year, I totally connected to the relationship between Ginny and her aunt Peg.  I kept finding myself hoping that I could do something so cool for my niece someday.  Maybe I should just work on not gagging as I change her diapers for now...

Fun Fact #2:  There is a second book!  The Last Blue Envelope is the sequel to this book.  I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I can't wait!!!  The premise is something that I was so curious about when I finished the first one.

Summary: Ginny's Aunt Peg has always been flighty and irresponsible, but there is something so wonderful about people like that, isn't there?  After a terrible tragedy, Aunt Peg has set out one last adventure for Ginny.  The adventure is set out in 13 letters and will send her all over Europe, from London to Italy to Denmark to Greece (and many more!).  Allowed nothing but a backpack, Ginny sets off for Europe blindly hoping that somehow she can trust her flaky artist aunt, the people she is supposed to track down, and the lessons that Peg wants her to figure out.  Finding adventure, friends, and romance along the way, Ginny is forced to become someone different than she always has been.  Maybe she is more like Peg than she ever thought...
