Looking for a good book to read?

Looking for a good book to read? You found the right place! I love Young Adult Literature and love recommending interesting titles to my students even more. This blog will recommend titles of YA Literature that I have recently read and want others to discover as well. Enjoy! Under each post is the "Comment" option. Feel free to share your opinions about each of the books so that other students can read your opinions as well.

You might have noticed the recent makeover each of the posts got. I rearranged the posts so that the summaries are hidden. If you are curious about a book and want to know more about it, click on "Read more >>", the summaries are hidden there for more information. Have fun!

  • You have a difficult sibling that you have to put up with.
  • You like to read short books packed with big messages.
You will not like this book if:
  • You like to read science fiction or fantasy novels.
  • You are not tolerant of people's opinions when they differ from yours.
  • You don't like when there is disappointment and hurt in novels.
Summary: Robert is very hard on his brother, but frankly, so is the rest of the world.  Alexander (Xan, for short) is an impressionable, loyal young man who can't figure out where he belongs.  He can't cut it by doing the same things his brother does: graduate high school, play soccer, or have a girlfriend.  But Xan begins to change when he discovers a class promoting Social Responsibility.  His passion for fixing the world's problems transitions from loyal to dangerous extremity.  Robert is the only one that will bring Xan back to reality (or at least as close to reality as Xan can get).
